'The nervous system heals in safety. Safety doesn't mean the absence of discomfort, threat or trigger. Safety means the capacity to hold ourselves, mind-body and energy, in the mids of the discomfort, threat and trigger. If today you're holding yourself a bit more through your discomfort, triggers, reactions and experiences, then this safety. Every day a bit. Safety is cumulative. It builds a new energetic momentum and response.'

' However, practices don't regulate the nervous system. What supports regulation is the skills we learn, the insights we have and what we experience internally when we practice or engage in various experiences to support the nervous system. Don't look for practices that "regulate" your nervous system. Look for practices that support your nervous system to regulate better or remember regulation, considering that sometimes, not practicing is the support that's needed. Restoring regulation doesn't happen in a day, a week or a year. Restoring regulation is a multidimensional process that takes time, ongoing attunement and support. Self-regulation is about context, inner conditions and relating differently to our nervous system and its outside environment. If we want sustainable healing and not quick fixes, we need to step back, observe and address all aspects of our human experience. If we force self-regulation and pressure our nervous system to stay with discomfort or overload with practices and modalities, the nervous system will backlash. The healing process will feel more like a burden. '

' Healing is a lifestyle. We need a long-term vision to create the internal conditions for supporting the system to discharge and heal the unresolved fight. (....)
ong-term vision involves supporting the nervous system to restore the de-activation phase safely, restore the boundary system to flexibility and access the underlying emotional wounds. '
